Aerial Yoga - Lessons on Life

I accepted an invite to my first ever yoga class with a friend only to find out that the class would be an Aerial Yoga class. For Beginners. Um, those two words together in one sentence didn't look right (who talks anymore? I was looking at a text message) but decided YOLO (is that phrase even used anymore?) and replied that I'd be at the class, as a beginner :)

Well, the room was beautiful with jewel tone silks hanging from the ceiling, it was the class before us that hadn't ended with the students seated in the silks and then upside down in the silks that had me wondering if maybe I should have declined the generous invite.

Thank goodness for the additional on-site instructor who basically helped me anytime I was using the silk. The other times I was using the floor mat to "mimick" the movements. Which I considered a good use of the time, at least I was moving and breathing.

Attending the class was a blast, even if I wasn't proficient at the aerial movements. The movement, the open environment, the friendly calming atmosphere all manifested into a wonderful opportunity to share a moment and a memory with a very good friend.
